Location: The small town of Bloomfield, NM, turned out to be a great home base for exploring the region. We came here to check out some of the Ancestral Puebloan sites in the area (Chaco Culture, Aztec and Salmon Ruins) and to see the amazing badlands, canyons, and Angel Peak. The park is conveniently located away from the main part of the town.
Lot size: We had a nice, full-hookup, pull-through lot with plenty of room for the tow dolly and car (#45). The roads are nice and wide so it is easy to navigate into and out of your site.
There are cabins available for rent and tent sites as well.
Amenities: The restrooms and laundry room are located in the same building as the office.
There is a lovely pool, and a kid’s playground with sand. The dog park is shaded and has grass. Our girl, Sadie, really liked it!
The park sells propane which is always a great convenience if you need a fill.
The wifi was okay (not great) and we were able to get plenty of broadcast TV stations, too.
Cost: $514 for 2-week stay; $36.71/night
Management: The staff in the office were great. This is a very well run and maintained park. We would definitely stay here again.
General Comments: My husband’s only complaint was that every time a new RV pulled in (and many stayed for just one night or two), they seemed to send up on either side of us. With many other sites open in the park at the time, he thought they should have spread us all out a bit more. Generally, though, we spend our days exploring sites of interest, so we were not “home” that much during our stay.
