Location: This RV parks is located on the south side of the town of Taos, so it was very convenient to the primary roads to the places we wanted to visit in the area. The Taos Visitor Center was a short drive away as were grocery and hardware stores and restaurants. It is about 3 miles from Taos Plaza in the center of town.
Lot size: We were happy with our first site, #32. It was a pull-through, full hook-up, site near the entrance. After about a week-long stay, the power source in the tower at our site failed. It took about 10 days for the repair to be made (they had to get local permits and dig up the road to run a new 50-amp line). Meanwhile, we moved to site #1, a pull-in site (so we had to back out) that only had 30 amps. It was the only site available at the time. After the electricity for site #32 was repaired, we were given the option of moving to a third site, #81, a pull-through, full hook-up, end site. The three sites are shown below.
The third one was, by far, our favorite.
There are smaller 30-amp sites, too, and tent camping sites as well. Most of them of wooden shelters for protection from the hot sun. All lots have a picnic table and grill.
Cost: $692/month plus electric (because of the problem with the power source and because we only had 30-amp service for a portion of our stay, the park just charged us $75 for power). During hot summer months, 50-amp sites normally run $200+ for monthly electric).
Amenities: Wifi was slow much of the time. We picked up many broadcast TV stations (from Albuquerque. The rest rooms and laundry room were located in the main building. We used the laundry room once, but one of the four washers or dryers was always broken (so went to local laundromat).
Propane can be purchased at the park, which is very convenient.
Our favorite part of this park is the trail area in a portion of the park. Our sweet doggie, Sadie, loved it!
Management: Management worked with us on our 3 lot changes while they repaired their electrical problem, which we appreciated. We also had multiple mail deliveries to the office, which was great. There is lots of information about local attractions in the office. And, you can be picked up for local tours at the park as well.
General Comments: Overall, this was a nice park. If we come to Taos again, however, we will stay at one of the parks that is out of town to enjoy the views of the valley and surrounding mountains.
