Today is Sadie’s 9th birthday! We always celebrate the day our firecracker doggie was born, although we did not meet/adopt her until about 9 weeks later. This year she was treated to some ice cream (this is a recurring theme) and a new duck that squawks. Both were a hit!
Since it was a holiday, we drove to Amarillo for dinner and some live music at Smokey Joe’s on Route 66. You can’t get much more patriotic than that, right?
This is a popular biker bar. Some folks were enjoying the air-conditioned restaurant, but we ate on the covered patio where Sadie could hang out with us. And listen to the band.
This was a July 4th to remember! We especially enjoyed our ranger-led tour at Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument. But, we still miss cook outs with friends and families on these holidays. It's always fun to experience new things in different places for us.
