Always looking for new places to hike with our doggie, Sadie, in the places we visit, New Tampa Nature Park showed up on my google search. It is a small, secluded park in Tampa that leads to a small boardwalk bridge with a multi-use trail that connects to several other larger parks.
A couple of innovative play areas are available for older kids: a zip line and climbing/ropes course. However, there is not yet a playground for toddlers or restrooms here.
There is both a walking path and paved bicycle path through hardwood hammocks and then pine flatlands.
Three other parks can be accessed from the New Tampa Nature Park.
Retracing our steps back to the parking lot, we followed the trail to the boardwalk.
Additional trails and amenities are planned in the future. For those that live nearby, this is a hidden gem for family biking and hiking activities. We always enjoy spending time in dog-friendly parks!
