A Quick Stop in Sulphur, 5/10/2019

Traveling from Abbeville, LA, to Houston, TX, on I-10, we made a short detour to visit our (ex) sister-in-law. Even though my brother is no longer married, we have maintained our relationship with Christina as we grew to love her over the years. She now lives in Sulphur, LA, so we made plans to spend the night at her place.

The property is totally fenced so the dogs (Lola Belle, Chloe, Gabbie), and especially our girl, Sadie, had a blast running around.

The interior is beautifully decorated with Christina’s unique style. Loved it.

With two ponds, we asked Christina if they ever saw alligators in them. When she asked the previous owner that question, he said there had been one (but they shot and ate it). Yikes! None have been seen since she purchased the property!

But crawfish wander into the yard from nearby ditches somtimes…

There were already some fruit trees here, and they have planted more. A few berries were ready for picking in the blueberry and strawberry patches, too.

We went out to a local favorite restaurant (LeBleu's Landing) where Christina, Donna and I all ordered the crawfish boil. It was divine! John stuck with his favorite, flounder. We stayed up late drinking wine and catching up with each other.

Sitting on rocking chairs enjoying morning coffee (and for me, tea) was delightful.

We had such fun visiting them. Thanks for the warm hospitality!
