The full moon over Spokane was beautiful last night (as I am sure it was in many other parts of the country). The Full Buck Moon symbolizes the time of year that male deer, bucks, start growing their antlers (July).
The full moon in July is also sometimes referred to as:
- the Full Thunder Moon, due to the high number of thunderstorms in July; or,
- the Full Hay Moon, as it is the time when farmers harvest, bale, and store hay for the winter.
Regardless of what you call it, it was gorgeous!
