Carolyn Meeker Park, 2/10/2017

Carolyn Meeker Park (aka Lutz Dog Park) is a Hillsborough County Park just a few miles from the RV park where we are staying in Lutz. About 2 acres of of the 8-acre tract leased from the Florida Department of Transportation is utilized as a dog park and short nature trail.

Both the small and large dog, fenced-in, off-leash dog parks have double-gated entrances, water supply, and benches/picnic tables. Restrooms are located in the large dog area.

The dog parks appear to be heavily used and not very well maintained. Nonetheless, our doggie, Sadie, had a great time playing with other dogs and catching her frisbee here.

The fenced-in large dog park is L-shaped, providing a lot of space for the dogs to run and chase each other (one of their very favorite games!)

There is a Nature Trail on the west side of the park (next to the Small Dog Park). Benches are positioned along the trail. Sadie had fun seeing the squirrels (but she is never fast enough to catch them). The trail is not very long, so we walked the loop a couple of times to enjoy the the outdoors.
