Moab RV Resort and Campground, September 15 to October 1, 2015

Rating: 3 and a scale of 5

Location: This park is located only a couple of miles south of Arches National Park on UT 191. The town of Moab is about 2 miles south of the resort, so the location is very convenient. From here we also visited Canyonlands (45 miles), Dead Horse Point State Park (28 miles), various rock art and dinosaur track sites, and several hiking trails.

Lot size:  The lots are pull through, but are too narrow. This is the primary reason that I gave this campground a rating of 3. Our neighbor's RV on one side was about 2 feet from our slideout. There was a nice area on the other side with grass (watered every night with sprinklers). However, this area is shared with the lot on the other side of the grass. Several times during our stay, our neighbors were sitting outside just a few feet from our door. The design does not work well. We were in lot 57. An end lot would be preferable.

Amenities: There are lots of nice amenities here. Cable tv (with many channels), wifi (average speed, I mostly used AT&T), nice laundry room, heated pool and hot tub (with adult only time 9 - 10 pm). All sites have a picnic table and grill.

A putting green, jumbo chessboard and checkerboard sets, horseshoe pits, and a pavilion are available for use by guests.

The bath house was very clean. The dog park, however, was pretty pitiful...

There are tent sites (shade provided) and cabins (both large and small).

Cost: $760.

Management: This is a very well run park. The folks in the office are very nice and helpful and the park is well maintained. Our check in was quick and efficient. When we had to extend our stay for a few days, they were very accommodating even though the place has been sold out most nights when we were there.

General Comments: There are many RV parks in Moab and we will likely elect to stay elsewhere if we are here again. The width of the RV lots is the primary issue. Plus it is quite expensive, although the amenities are very nice.
