Pahrump Valley Winery - 10/16/14

To celebrate our wedding anniversary, we went to Symphony's Restaurant at the Pahrump Valley Winery.

The restaurant gets rave reviews and is rated above 90% on Urban Spoon. With travel to so many different cities, I use Urban Spoon to find good restaurants. We have found it to be remarkably reliable, and Symphony's was as good as the reviews said it would be. Folks travel from Las Vegas (55 miles) to dine here.

John had filet mignon with potatoes and delicious green beans paired with a really good burgundy from the vineyard. The steak was cooked to perfection with blue cheese crumbles on top. I had a cup of the lobster bisque followed by salmon, rice and vegetable paired with their chardonnay. We were too full to order a dessert but their was an excellent selection. Everything was exceptionally good with impeccable service. It was a real treat!

We ate on the terrace (glassed-in/air conditioned). It was a beautiful setting with views of the vineyards.

The winery boasts over 400 national wine awards since 2004. They produced Nevada's first commercial red wine, Nevada Ridge. The restaurant is named after their multiple-gold-winning wine, Symphony. Winery tours are available most days at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 3:30 pm.

Their is a lovely gift shop where you can find unique gifts and, of course, purchase the winery's products.
