Lunar Eclipse and Sunrise, 1/31/2018

Anxious to see the lunar eclipse at moonset, we got up early and drove to a piece of land in the middle of Laguna Madre. Unlike John, I am not a morning person and only get up this early in my retirement years for a very special occasion!

I did capture some partial eclipse photos. 

But the sun was rising by the time it was a total lunar eclipse, and the moon became totally obscured from view.

As we drove back to the RV park along Laguna Shore Road, we stopped to snap a few shots of the sunrise. So pretty.

Maybe I should start get up early more often to see these beautiful skies!
