Skyline Drive-In Theater, 4/22/2016

Yep, we had a Friday night date at the Skyline Drive-In Theater. That's what we used to do in the late 1960s!

One of the few drive ins left in the country, it was less than a mile from the RV park where we were staying in Barstow, CA, on Old Highway 58. There are two screens (have never seen that before) and they show two current-release movies per screen seven days a week. Audio is piped into an FM radio station providing high quality sound (unlike those crappy speakers I remember from the "good ole" days).

Show time is based on the time of year and when the sun sets.

There is also a concession stand where John got some popcorn and drink. I, of course, brought wine that I was able to enjoy during the movie. How nice!

One thing that we really liked about going to a drive in is that we could bring our doggy, Sadie, with us. We saw Jungle Book (which was great, by the way) and she watched a lot of the movie and some of the movie on the other screen (The Huntsman). She loves to watch TV but gets rowdy when she sees dogs and other animals on the screen. The same thing happened at the drive in!

There are double features, although we just stayed for the first movie (the second was Zootopia). On the other screen the second movie was The Boss

We had a great time! Cost is $8/adult. No charge for dogs (ha)! Skyline has a Facebook Page and/or you can just Google it for current movies and schedule. When we were there the box office opened at 7:30 pm and the first movie started at 8 pm
