Carrabelle Beach RV Resort, April 1 to May 1, 2017

Rating:  4.8 on a scale of 5

Location: Carrabelle Beach RV Resort is located on Highway 98 on the eastern Florida Panhandle right across the street from the beach. It is also within walking distance of the historic Crooked River Lighthouse and new site of the Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum. It's a short drive to Eastpoint, St. George's Island, and Apalachicola, all beautiful coastal towns. We visited various state parks near here as well as St. Mark's National Wildlife Refuge and Tate's Hell State Forest. It was great.

Lot size: We were in lot 124 in the new Haven Beach Retreat area. It was a back-iin site with woods behind the lot. There are many drive-through sites in the main area of the park, but we felt like we had more privacy in this part. There was also a large open area in the middle of the Haven Beach Retreat section.

Cottages of varying sizes are also available for rent here. There are located in several places in the park with RV lots next to some of them.

Amenities: This is a beautiful park with a wide array of amenities including cable TV, wifi and wifi. The clubhouse clubhouse has a large TV, books, and games, with a kitchen and screened in porch. The small, but clean, laundry room has 5 washers/5 dryers and is also located in the clubhouse. You can enjoy the porch while doing your laundry and kids can play outside at the playground.

The pool is a nice size and just lovely. The bathhouse is, of course, located right next to it.

A deck overlooks the pool and provides views of the bay from the park. Also, a small off-leash dog park is located at the rear of the park.

Cost: $749 for the month (included electricity, cable TV, wifi, full hook ups)

Management: The folks in the park office/store are friendly and efficient. Our check-in was quick with no hassles. This is a very well-run RV Resort. This same company owns multiple other parks as well.

General Comments:  The only ding for this place is that the water pressure is very low and this appears to be the case throughout the park. We were still able to take showers in our RV, but it was a little annoying. Also, the wifi (at least in the part of the park where we were located) was very slow most of the time. Nonetheless, this is a beautiful and very well maintained park. And the location is fantastic. We will definitely stay here again. The beach is the best part of this place!
