Apollo RV Park, August 25 to September 8, 2018

Rating:  2.5 on a scale of 5

Location: The only RV parks in Concord, NC, are here to serve the NASCAR fans that attend various auto events at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and other smaller tracks here. This is the third one we have tried as we visit here frequently to see our son and his family. All of them have very few amenities and most have back-in sites. Nonetheless, we stayed here because it is less than 10 minutes away from the kids and easy to access from major interstates.

Lot size: We had a back-in, full hook-up site, on dirt/gravel with woods behind us (site #4).

Because we only had a neighbor one week during our two-week stay, we had more space at our site. There appear to be many people who live here full time, but all are very well maintained. This is also a mobile home park, and they are also, well kept.

Amenities: The staff here escorted us to our site, always convenient. And, they pick tied trash bags set outside by the road.

Cost: $130/weekly rate; or $18.20/day (normal daily rate is $30)

Management: When we arrived, no one was in the office but a staff member in a golf cart found our reservation and escorted us to our site. We did not pay (by check) until about a week later when I did find someone in the office (located in the house near the entrance of the park). There is a lovely garden and sitting area near the office.

General Comments:  Overall, we had a nice and quiet stay here. There was not really any good outdoor space to play with our grandson, though. And, everyone we met here was very nice. However, one thing I really hate to see Confederate flags in RV parks where we stay. And, of course, there are some here. But then again, it is North Carolina. Having said that, the price here is great for full hook-up sites.

We will likely stay here again because of the limited options here in Concord.
