Field Hockey Time!, 9/1-2/2018

By chance we discovered that my brother, Mark, would be in Charlotte on business for one night while we were in Concord. Because his flight was delayed, we only spent an hour or so with him at his hotel near the airport. It was still an unexpected treat to catch up with each other!

While we were together Mark’s youngest daughter, Jordan, called. When she learned he was in Charlotte, she told him she would be playing field hockey at Queens University here over the Labor Day weekend. Mark had business commitments to return home, but we immediately made plans to see her play Saturday and Sunday.

Okay, I am going to do a little bragging here. Jordan is an awesome athlete (always has been) and is attending Millersville University (PA) on an academic scholarship to play field hockey. In high school, she was named MVP in her junior and senior years. Now a junior at Millersville, she plays midfield

On Saturday, the Millersville Marauders (gold) played the Queens University Royals (the first game of the season). Jordan is #24.

Score!

Here are some action shots of Jordan...

Team victory run: Millersville 7-2.

We returned to the Queens University Sports Complex to see Millersville play Converse College on Sunday. More action shots...

Team victory run: Millersville 7-0

We had a chance to chat with her for few minutes after the game.

It was such a treat to see Jordan play! This promises to be a very exciting season for her and the Millersville team. We feel a special closeness with her as we have had lots of fun times at the beach and on our boat (Chesapeake Bay). In addition to playing field hockey, she made Dean’s List last semester. We are so proud of her, as are her parents!
