Birthday Fun in Trinidad, 6/04/2016

June 4th is John's birthday. I insist on celebrating birthdays. And John is one of those party-poopers who insists that birthdays are just another day. Not so!

We spent the afternoon at our favorite spot in Trinidad, College Cove. Even though it was foggy, we enjoyed our picnic lunch and chill time on the beach. Our doggy, Sadie, loved it there as well. We all had fun spending time here.

For dinner, I had made reservations for us at the Moonstone Grill, noted for fine dining, in Trinidad. The place was very crowded when we arrived, but we were seated right away at a table with a lovely ocean view (thanks to our reservations ... I called three days ahead for Saturday night).

The food and service were excellent. We had shared an appetizer of lobster rolls. For dinner, John had steak and I had salmon. We were served a yummy chocolate cake/ice cream dessert complete with a lit candle for John's birthday (I requested that when I made the reservation).

After dinner we went for a stroll on beautiful Moonstone Beach with Sadie. Redwood roots and logs provided great seats!

Sadie had a great time playing with Moondog (part wolf/part German Shepherd). They became fast friends romping in the surf and running around on the beach.

What a fantastic day! I am a firm believer in celebrating special days...and as we get older, aren't they all?
