Safe Haven RV Park, October 9 to 13, 2017

Rating:  3.0 on a scale of 5

Location: We stayed just four nights in Macon, GA, and really just stopped here as we make our way to Biloxi, MS. Located very close to I-65, the attractions we wanted to visit were easily accessible as were stores.

Lot size: We had a pull through, full hook-up, lot. We had plenty of room for our tow dolly and car. Our host gave us the option of several available sites. There was easy to park and depart from the site. Others were not too close to us. And, honestly, we saw very few people. Many of those staying here work in the area.

Amenities: The only amenities here currently are wifi, bathhouse, laundry room, and screened in sitting. At first I thought the bathhouse looked run down (from the exterior), but it was actually quite nice, very clean, and large when I went in to check out the laundry room.

More amenities will be available in the future as bulldozers are on-site now.

Cost: $112/stay; $28/night

Management: We really liked the guy that owns and runs this place. He was very helpful when we arrived and provided information about the local area. He purchased the park several years ago and is doing extensive work to upgrade the campground. Once he makes more progress with those improvements, I believe this will be a really nice park. The property is gated and he provided us with the passcode to enter.

General Comments:  While the park does not have many amenities, it had everything we needed for our stay. And it was what we expected after reviewing it online. Plus the price was great. We may check it out again in the future if we are back in this area.

Another great experience for us at this campground, was that we had Southern Commercial Tire replace our two front tires on the RV. We went to their shop and discussed our needs with them. We learned that we could have the tires installed at our campground for a charge of $75 which we thought was a great deal.

So the day we were checking out, Luke (who was absolutely fantastic and knew exactly what he was doing), arrived early with our two new Michelins. He promptly took of the old, put on the new, and we were ready to go in no time. What a great job! We highly recommend them (www.southerncommercialtire.com) for RV tires (and probably any other tire you may need). In addition to their fantastic service, the tires were reasonably priced compared to some other shops we have checked them out.
