After dinner we went to the Old Faithful Inn, where they are staying, to continue our visit.
View from the rear.
What a warm and beautiful ambiance in the huge, three-floor, main lobby. It is one of the largest log structures in the world and was completed in 1904. There are timber columns, hickory furniture, and comfortable seating throughout. A huge stone fireplace with a spectacular antique pendulum clock is a focal point of the space.
We enjoyed a cocktail (well, three of us did!) at the Mezzanine Bar, accompanied by the lovely music played by the pianist in the lobby area. We thoroughly enjoyed the visiting with friends as well as the setting.
On the drive home to West Yellowstone, we had the good fortune to see a wolf in the wild. I did not get the opportunity to catch a photo, but we were very excited about our first wolf sighting!
We hope to see these friends in the near future. Lynn lives in Montana and knows the area very well and Peggy is a frequent visitor. This was a very pleasant evening!
