General Info:
- Fur traders in 1823 were likely the first explorers of the area, although Native Americans lived in the region for more than 10,000 years.
- Multiple military expeditions came through the area, including General Custer.
- Homesteading started in the area in 1881 bringing the first settlers to the area.
- There are many fossil quarries in the area (as there are in many parts of Montana).
- The population in the 2010 census was 383 people.
- The town is known for its rodeo, local hunting and fishing.
There is a local museum located here, but it was closed when we visited the town (on a Sunday).
