Wine Tasting and Dinner in Hannibal, 8/17/2016

The day before we travel, we usually do our laundry and clean the motor coach. Because we don't like to mess up the kitchen by preparing dinner, we often go out to eat, too. Today, that's exactly what we did.

The Cave Hollow Winery is located in the Mark Twain Cave Complex where we were staying. I had been wanting to sample their wines, but we did not get around to it until today.

We each tried three different wines (no charge) and ended up purchasing two bottles of wine (one for each of us).

There are lots of interesting items for sale here including a wide variety of wine accessories and Mark Twain-themed gifts. We enjoyed browsing...

Also featured here is the cheese that is aged in the nearby Mark Twain Cave. We purchased some and it is was very good!

We had fun talking with the folks that work here and a customer that recently moved to Hannibal from nearby Palmyra, MO.

Next we went for dinner at the Mark Twain Brewing Company that is located in the historic district of Hannibal near the Mississippi River.

I had the catfish dinner (very good) and John had some BBQ ribs that were delicious! In addition to beer, there is a full service bar. Service was excellent.

It was a lovely ending to our stay in Hannibal!
